Privacy Policy
The operator of Famreco (“we,” “us,” or “the Operator”) handles information relating to users of Famreco (“the App”) in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
1. Information Handled by the App
The App handles the following information entered or selected by users in order to provide its features:
- Album names
- Member names, display names, and profile images
- Names and tags relating to children, people, hobbies, or other categories
- Photos, videos, and thumbnail images
- Short text, notes, comments, and reactions
- Posting dates, capture dates, update dates, and other date information
- In-app settings
- Information required for invitations, sharing, synchronization, and restoration, including a CloudKit share URL, a random invitation token, and expiration information
- Premium feature availability and purchase status information
- Device, operating system, and app information required for troubleshooting and quality improvement
2. Purposes of Use
We use the information described above for the following purposes:
- Providing album display, posting, search, calendar, and related features
- Identifying users and participating members
- Providing album invitations, sharing, synchronization, and restoration
- Providing Premium features and confirming purchase status
- Responding to inquiries, investigating problems, and preventing misuse
- Improving the quality, safety, usability, and reliability of the App
3. Access to Photos and Videos
The App accesses the photo library so users can post photos and videos they select.
The App does not send photos or videos that the user has not selected to an external destination, and it does not make the user’s entire photo library publicly available.
4. Use of iCloud and CloudKit
The App uses Apple’s iCloud and CloudKit services to store, synchronize, share, and restore data.
Photos, videos, text, comments, album information, and related data may be stored on the user’s device and in Apple’s iCloud or CloudKit services.
We do not store users’ photos, videos, or post text on servers independently operated by us.
Use of iCloud and CloudKit requires the user’s Apple Account and appropriate iCloud settings.
5. Album Sharing
The App allows users to share albums with members they invite.
Depending on the permissions granted to them, shared members may be able to view posts, add comments, send reactions, or create posts.
Sharing scope and member permissions are managed separately for each album.
When an invitation link is created, the App sends the Apple CloudKit share URL to the Famreco invitation service, which uses Cloudflare infrastructure. The invitation service maps a cryptographically generated random token to the share URL and retains that mapping to provide invitation functionality. The mapping automatically expires 30 days after it is created.
The Famreco invitation service does not receive album photos, videos, post text, or member names. In accordance with the audited architecture, this private album content is handled on users’ devices and in Apple’s iCloud or CloudKit services.
6. In-App Purchases
The App may offer in-app purchases or subscriptions using Apple’s StoreKit in order to provide Premium features.
Payment processing, payment information, refunds, and subscription management are handled by Apple.
To determine whether Premium features are active, the App may use purchase status information provided by Apple, including purchased product identifiers, transaction identifiers, and expiration dates.
7. Disclosure to Third Parties
We do not sell or disclose users’ photos, videos, text, names of children or other people, or album contents to third parties for advertising purposes.
This does not apply in the following circumstances:
- When a user uses the album-sharing feature to share information with invited members
- When disclosure is required by applicable law
- When Apple services necessary to provide App features are used, including iCloud, CloudKit, and StoreKit
- When Cloudflare services are used for website delivery, invitation functionality, security, and website analytics
8. Advertising and Analytics
The App does not use users’ photos, videos, post text, or names of children or other people for advertising purposes.
Famreco’s public websites use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand page usage and display performance. This may process the URL or path viewed, browser and operating-system type, country information, display-performance information such as Core Web Vitals, and related page-element information. We do not use this information for advertising tracking.
Cloudflare may also process IP addresses, request information, routing information, and other network metadata to deliver, secure, and operate the websites and invitation service.
This processing relates to visits to the public websites and does not mean that the App collects users’ web browsing history. If third-party advertising or analytics SDKs are introduced into the App in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and the privacy information displayed on the App Store.
9. Data Management and Deletion
Users can delete posts, albums, participation status, and other data by using the deletion features provided within the App.
Data stored locally on a user’s device can also be removed by deleting the App from that device.
Data stored in iCloud or CloudKit may be manageable through the App’s deletion features, the user’s iCloud settings, or Apple Account settings.
If a shared album is deleted, the album may also become unavailable on the devices of shared members.
The mapping between an invitation token and a CloudKit share URL automatically expires 30 days after creation. The current service does not delete this mapping immediately solely because an invitation is accepted, sharing is revoked, or an album is deleted.
10. Information Relating to Children
The App allows users to voluntarily register names, tags, photos, videos, text, and other information relating to children or other people.
This information is used to organize and display memories within albums.
Parents and guardians should confirm the intended sharing recipients and obtain any consent that may be required before registering such information.
We do not sell or disclose this information to third parties for advertising purposes.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may revise this Privacy Policy in response to changes in applicable law, the services we provide, or the features of the App.
If material changes are made, we will provide notice on this page or within the App.
